Question Universal Remote Noob

My Amp's remote has died.

Do I order a replacement, which I may need when I sell it, and/or buy a universal remote.

Have had a couple before and they didn't really work well, would turn on and off equipment and adjust volume. But when it came to getting into menus or adjusting other settings, a no go.

A lot of people are talking about Harmony, will that remote do EVERYTHING my old Marantz remote did? or will some functins be lost?

Hey don't cry...

Check out the Compatibility Database to see if your device is supported!

All functions should be available although you might want to assign the functions you use to most to your activity menu. All the other functions should be available when you select the device (the remote functions basically using activities but you can access specifics controls that are not assigned in the activity by going in the device menu).

If your device is not listed, perhaps another Marantz model of the same "era" will work.

Recently I bought a cheap DVD player for my bedroom (open box... actually no box at all and no remote). Anyway I entered the model number and I got access to all the functions...
