DVD on Steroids aka Blu-ray

What has Blu-ray really changed? I was wondering this because I was reading a review about a blu-ray player and it does not have the capability of playing back blu-ray discs once you stop the player (well none do). It's kind of strange that that all a blu-ray disc is a DVD on steriods. Listen before everyone goes and gets themself in a uproar just think first, then blast later.

We first had film reels, then VHS & Beta, then DVD, laser dics if you want to count that, and now we have HD definition DVD Blu-ray. I'll make sure not to speak of the other one lol. Its funny that we the consumer are all happy about a dvd that is in HD. Bascially, the Blu-ray disc is a dvd with large storage capacity and processes better audio. That is like me buying a Honda changing a couple things in it and telling you its an Acura now!

Has Blu-ray really changed the game or have we all been hoodwinked? Going for VHS to DVD is a impactful in our lives, but has Blu-ray really done that? Its so hard to find anyone that has a VHS these days and if they do we look at them as if they are not of this planet or from different world. We do look at people different if they have DVDs now do we? I just keep asking myself what has blu-ray changed?
