Need some help with a problem, lets say "JOE" has a wife and a daughter married 22 years and own a business together. the wife meets an old flame from years ago on facebook and falls in love with him to the point of sleeping together.
Joe finds out, but for the sake of his daughter and business forgives her.She says she needs more affection than what she is getting now,Joe says he will try.Two weeks later she is of again for a weekend with him and she says Joe should understand because she does not love him anymore, and making him feel like the bad guy for not carring enough for her. What should Joe do.(this is real life guys not someting made up.) |

First off... Facebook is evil... allows ppl to add old flames and stuff will happen because it happened before. BUt at the same time it will also fail like it did before because its just people getting caught up in their past and getting attention again which is pretty much just sexual. I added an ex once, she would chat flirty with me, post stuff on my wall that my family and wife did not want to see and she shouldn't have posted to begin with as it was 12 years later and she was just starting trouble for whatever reason.
If I was Joe I would get some balls, dump her ass, see where the pieces fall, never forget he loves his daughter and do anythng for her. Also, If I was Joe I would delete my Facebook account and realize that it's just pure evil! Can we get any more disconnected from real life?! |

I would hire a private investigator and get documentation of the affair. I would then hire the best lawyer that I could afford. Give him the pictures/video and come out of the whole situation clean. I would also cancel all joint credit cards, and close all non business-related bank accounts. I know this is a bad time to do it, but I might would sell my stake in the company. If "Joes" the vindictive type(like me), he could sell to someone the wife hates.

I've been married for maybe 12 or 15 years and have 3 kids.
If my wife had an affair that would be "game over". I would get a baby sitter and be on a Hedonism cruise within days. Being single again would be fun. Sounds cold but trust would be gone and marriage without said trust would not be a lifestyle I would accept. -Brian Last edited by bhampton; 06-06-2009 at 03:12 PM. |

![]() ![]() First off, I'd feel sorry for Joe. I'm 23 and think Facebook is evil as well. Am I on there? Ya but I don't get all crazy with it like some people do. Why do I need to advertise myself to everyone? Same goes for Twitter. I know people who spend their entire weekends on there. Then again I guess I can't blame them since I spend my entire weekends on here... ![]() Joe sounds like nice guy. Honest, hard working just trying to make the ends meet. He doesn't want to destroy the marriage and He wants to keep the happiness of his daughter growing up in a non-broken home intact. However, Joe did give his wife an ultimatum and she decided to go against his will again. I'd say It's time for Joe to move on. Clearly, his wife is infatuated with another man. It's a hard thing to do. Even if you said, "ok...i'll give her a third shot." You'll have a hard time living together. It's best to part ways and move on. The single life can be boring at times but it's a helluva lot more stress-free. I barely made it through high school because of women. I never studied and spent all my $ on women and I really got nothing out of it. I graduated, served in the military and got disciplined. Now, I'm in my 3rd year of college riding on a 3.5 gpa. I paid for my S2000 in cash and I couldn't be happier. It's tough to find Mrs. Right in this internet-crazed world. There's so much more temptation then there was 30 years ago. Joe needs to get out of his predicament and take a nice little vacation. Do some traveling. Things he couldn't do when he was tied down with marriage. I'm not sure how his daughter will take it. Hopefully, she's on his side so maybe he'll take her with him? Let the mother go off with "the facebook guy" I'm sure she'll regret it at a later time but right now she's riding the wave like Kate Winslet did in Little Children. I would tell Joe to hop on an internet forum and ask perfect strangers advice on what to do in his personal life.
Yup, that's a foolproof plan alright. Logan |

seriously Joe, it's time to move on. Doesn't sound like the realtionship is going to last nor should it. She's being incredibly immature about this whole situation and manipulating "Joe" into thinking it's somehow his fault. Last I heard, she was the one sleeping with an old fling. |

'JOE' should end it now & i'd do the above with the lawyers & PI if theres financial loss to be had & judging by the amount of years being married, "22", i'm kinda shocked to see this happen but not suprised in today's topsy turvey world
I know it's gonna be hard to have to split but it's for the best given the situation & the already actions taken to try & resolve it once & she does it again, the trust is now completely dead 'Joe's' daughter should be old enough i would think to be able to understand the situation & if not i'm sure it can be explained in the future if her mother doesn't poison her mind against him but to avoid that i would seek to gain parental custody from the PI proof & lawyers sorry to hear this & hope the advice is helpful to you from i & others but moving on is best, even if it does take some years it will be for the better |
