What hapened to "Educating Rita"? - Blu-ray Forum

Does anyone know what has happened with the "Educating Rita" blu ray release. I see it was supposed to be out in September 2008. One year later I cannot find the movie anywhere. Amazon says "currently unavailable - We don't know when or if this item will be back in stock". I totally doubt it has sold out so quickly. I guess something else is amiss.

Has anyone actually bought this movie on blu ray at all?

If you check it on Amazon it doesn't have a release date. It either it is planned to be released later, or it was cancelled all together.

Lets hope the latter isn't the case with this one.

Unfortunately, it does have a relese date both in amazon UK and US, respectively in september and december 2008. The US amazon says "This item has been discontinued by the manufacturer", which makes the possibility of it being cancelled very probable. Let's hope it's only temporary though.
