Thumbs down M. Liebman gave Wayne's world a 3/5

I've always hated his reviews, almost killing films I liked or praising films I hate, and always putting big scores to blockbusters, thus not showing te least bit of courage.
And now film interest or Wayne's world : 3/5 ... This movie renewed what a comedy should be, what it shouldn't be, and just what fun with friends is ... This is as much a classic as Blade Runner or Barry Lyndon!

IDK, I thought it was funny when I first saw it, but it's not as funny for me on repeat viewings. His score seems reasonable to me.

So what? He didn't like the movie. What's the big deal?

Everyone has different opinions about movies. There's no reason to cry.

yeah, a 3/5 seems reasonable. It was really funny for the era in which it was released. Some of the jokes and slang are so outdated now that they induce an eyeroll instead of a laugh. Not an offensive movie, it just hasnt aged well and isnt a classic by any stretch imo.

A 3 out of 5 sounds pretty fair IMO. I haven't seen it in awhile, but frankly anything higher than that would have probably surprised me. I focus more on the Video & Audio parts of reviews, anyhow.

And I gave WW2 a 1.5/5. Did that make you mad, too? I hope so because, you know, my entire goal in my reviews is to trash the movies you love and love the movies you hate.

Film reviews tend to be very subjective and vary from person to person. If you enjoy the film, pick it up on Blu-ray and be happy. And then write a review and post it.

Seems fair. Like someone else said while this movie is funny this movie is also dated so I can see a chunk of the jokes not holding up well.

Um... No. Extreme close ups of michael meyers going "WOOAH!" is neither funny nor classic to many people. Humour is subjective.

A 3/5 for Wayne's World is enormously generous. That film is terrible. But you know how it goes, beauty is in the eye of the beholder. One's mans treasure is another garbage.

His review of Rambo was dead on...takes somebody with balls to actually look at the film for what it is, instead of crying over the gore & crudeness. Bravo Mr. Liebman!

Wayne's World is nothing special, its funny yes but you can only score old non-blockbuster movies so high. The movie is average, and the sound and video were average. Whats 1/2 of 100%? 50%, he gave the movie 10% better which to me is overly fair.

Just ignore the reviewer's opinion of the movie. That's what I do.

Um, no. I think you're letting nostalgia get the better of you.

3/5 is about right for Wayne's World. It still has some pretty hilarious moments, but on the whole, it doesn't hold up very well. And I'm speaking as someone who LOVED it when it first came out in theaters.

I agree. If you look at Marty's reviews for comedy films, he's given (for instance):

5 stars to Young Frankenstein and Office Space
3 stars to Bride Wars and Mrs Doubtfire
Half a star to Meet the Spartans and The Love Guru

Which is spot-on in my opinion.

While we don't always disagree on the films value on a five point scale, ML's perspectives and mine are wildly divergent as it comes to film. Sometimes I read the film review portion to see what take he has on a film I have strong feelings on - sometimes I just skip to the reviews.
Reviewing the content of the film will always be subjective. Scroll down to the technical details, which is the core component of these reviews on a blu-ray forum anyway.
