Default Martin Liebman - Thank You

I always enjoy your reviews, and I've never disagreed with anything you've said about discs I've bought. You must spend every waking moment watching Blu-Rays. Not a bad job to have. Keep up the good work.

I enjoy his reviews, but there is a lot of incorrect technical and historical facts.

Like suggesting Troy was Warner's first move to lossless audio, when in fact it was several months earlier with The Departed.

Or this little tidbit from "Man on Fire"

As one might expect, this soundtrack is pretty standard stuff until the action kicks in.
Um, what? The LFE on this is GO! right from the start, accompanied by a typical industrial, scraping score from Harry Gregson-Williams.

One of the first scenes of the movie describes the facts of kidnapping and how it's done, leaving the kidnappee stranded on the side of the road.

This flick is anything but standard within the first 60 seconds of the flick - it announces to you "wake the f78k up, Tony Scott is here!!"

I agree 1000%. That first shot in the movie will make your house shake. HGW's score, along with the Nine Inch Nails cues, have some EXTREMELY deep moments. There's even a scene where someone lights a match early on after you meet Creasy and the bass is pretty heavy.

But there's a lot of reviews on here that are inaccurate as well. Take a look at the audio section of Goblet of Fire. It says PCM isn't much better than Dolby Digital and that PCM can't handle the complexities of the soundtrack.... ok. Then on The Rock, the reviewer comes right out and says there's no dirt or any film artifacts on the transfer. Wow that's way wrong. The Rock is deffinately dity, but not in a terribly distracting way.
