Default The Marine part 2

I kid you not. I saw the trailer before Driven To Kill. Doesnt look like John Cena is in it though.

Now if a movie is screaming for a sequel, the Marine was it...

He was @ Parris Island when I was stationed there. He did some obstacles and jumped off the rappel tower. I hope they don't make a sequel...the first one was terrible.

.....seriously?'

they couldn't have made The Special Ops Guy or The Army Dude or The Navy Man instead?

all kidding aside...will anyone actually see this?
the first one wasn't good enough to warrant a sequel

Im definitely in the minority here, but I enjoyed the first one. But I do agree that it wasn't good enough for a sequel.

I love low budget b-movies. They're not meant to be art, just mindless fun. The Marine was a fun throwback to 80s style action movies. I'll check out the sequel, which is supposed to be a straight-to-video film anyway. I'm sure it will provide a fast paced "plot" and lots of over-the-top action sequences. That's all I need.

Theres only one thing I can say...thank Zeus that he's not going to appear in the sequel. Too bad that's not gonna stop the production of a god awful movie.

You mean one of the member's of Legacy? Huh, I didn't think he'd be good enough to get the part, or in WWE's case, not good enough to sell mercendice and be heavily promoted. He's way too generic.

Well, I guess we'll be seeing the end of the Legacy. They were okay, but didn't stand out compared to something like Dibiase Sr's. Million Dollar Corporation of the mid 90's. Or even the Four Horsemen of the 80's.

Not every movie made is intended to be award winning you know.

And I'll tell you who will watch/buy this movie, all those WWE fans. So they're guaranteed to make a huge amount of profit off of it.

In saying that, I won't watch it nor have I seen the first one either. Just so we're clear.

Luckily, I had a refund ticket since the power went out at the theater during the last half hour of Blood Diamond and I used that refund on The Marine. Good thing, I would have been pissed if I paid to watch it.

You still wasted a free ticket and that is a shame. Just like I decided to use a fee rental on Larry The Cable Guy health Inspector at Blockbuster

God, I had two free rentals from a Red Box back in '07 and I got I Think I Love My Wife and Fracture and both discs were scratched to s***. I got Year of the Dog and Delta Farce. I felt so stupid for getting those and to make matters worse, Red Box charged me $46 for both rentals and I was in a big spat with them for a good month over how it was free rentals and that I had returned them. Apparently, their box had a malfunction and didn't think I had returned it in several days so it charged my credit card full price for the movies. I was pissed, big time.

That's exactly why I actually liked it. I totally went into it expecting nothing, but found myself laughing with (not at) the cheese factor. It actually got a favorable review from Martin Liebman:

If Netflix picks up the sequel I'll most likely end up wasting 90 minutes of my life watching it...

The first one wasn't good enough to warrant being made in the first place.

It easily could've been a cool, mindless action movie, with a big guy who was fun to watch kick ass, and a villain we all recognize. But the movie just blew ass, it was so bad. I hope I never see bullet proof Camaros in a movie again

the original was very funny, I honestly think it's worth seeing. I'd say I liked it for the same reason I like Starship Troopers... fun, doesn't take itself seriously. just a good time.

I highly doubt the sequel will be even remotely worthwhile.
