Default Best boxset for college student

Hello all. I'm in a dilemma as a college student on a budget. I've been researching the various prices that Amazon has had for The Godfather Collection (currently at $53.99) and for Band of Brothers ($53.99).

Here are the facts:

I have never seen either one (only bits and pieces of each Godfather when it's on cable. I refuse to watch it all the way through, since it's five hours with commercials) I would love to have both, but that's not really financially feasible at this point. Also, I've noticed that the price for the Godfather has dropped this week (although I searched for previous prices and found that it was once 49 a few weeks back. FML) Obviously both have gotten awesome reviews, but which would be the better buy at this point and time? Is either title susceptible to future price drops? Would hate to buy now and learn a month later that it's way cheaper.

I appreciate any feedback

I guess if I had to choose between those, I'd pick the Godfather. I don't know if you're into vampire movies, but the Underworld trilogy is getting released next month. Amazon has it for $56.99

If I had to choose between the 2 I'd get Band of Brothers. I find it more rewatchable and the 1 hour episodes are much easier to find time for. The PiP commentary on Band of Brothers is also very good and another way to get even more value out of the set.

Get them both from here for cheaper if you dont mind used.

If I had to pick one... Die Hard boxset before either, but then Band of Brothers for replay value. Godfather is awesome, but just not the best for watching over and over.

I'd go for the Godfather. My favorite movies of all time.

If you have a little extra $$$, you can get them both used at a cheaper price per set.

If you like cars, maybe the Fast & The Furious Trilogy?

Yeah I figured as much. However, the historical significance of The Godfather pulls me in (plus the fact I've never seen it). Band of Brothers seems way cool though from what I've read.

I have both the Godfather box set and the Band of Brothers set. I would watch Band of Brothers more and recommend it over the Godfater, but both are incredible in different ways.

I'd go with BoB instead of Godfather, plus this seller in the exchange forum has it for $37 shipped

I own both but The Godfather is the #1 Blu-Ray recommendation I give everybody. I've watched mine at least twice a month since it came out.

Really tough call; I own both, and although the Godfather is a brilliant BD set, I would have to recommend BoB based on overall value. You really can't lose either way.

Depends if your watching it at college or not. If so, go with the longest run time.

The Godfather..... hands down!

Best trilogy of all time...... besides.... the young college coeds would love to watch it with you

Band of Brothers was really good..... but I think The Godfather has MUCH more re-watchability.....

I've probably seen the 1st film 40-50 times..... throughout the years (on various formats obviously) and the 2nd/3rd not far behind that.....

For a college student? I'd recommend the Girls Gone Wild boxset.....if there is one.

Godfather is a masterpiece and should be watched by everyone. They're both worthy of being in everyone's collection imo.

Band of Brothers. There are some episodes you'll watch over and over. One of the best PQ/AQ blus out there.
