Does anyone have the LN55b650? - Blu-ray Forum

I'm thinking of getting rid of my LN46a650 to get this TV. The extra 9 inches is really appealing to me, but I want to view the TV before I buy it. Anyone seen it or own it?

I saw this tv a couple of weeks ago in Best Buy. They had it beside the LED based Samsungs and a couple of Panasonic and Samsung plasmas. I can tell you that the new B650 is much improved over last year's A650. I was totally impressed with how deep the blacks were. Sitting beside the 8000 series LED set was quite intriguing. Black levels were pretty close and overall I just don't see the need to spend the extra cash on the LED. Yeah, the LED still had the edge, but it definitely wasn't a $1000-$1500 edge...the extra money these things cost. If you can find a place to see it you should, but it's definitely a huge upgrade over what you have and one of the better LCD's I've seen this year. I saw the Sony XBR9 and as good as it is I would still take the B650 over it. The price premium is just ridiculous and the picture is only slightly better than the Samsung if it all.

Looks like I have to go to best buy to see if they have one to look at

If only Amazon would drop the price right now....
