Default Installment in "Alien" Quadrilogy You Must Have on Blu-ray

If having to choose between one of the four installments of the "Alien" franchise to have on Blu-ray, which one would you ultimately opt for?

Aliens. Someone should turn this into a poll.

The original. With the expectation that Aliens would be released eventually.

No interest in the latter two.

I vote for Aliens. It's one of those rare sequels that I felt was the best. Of course it depends on your preference. I loved the all out action of it. The first one was more suspensful. Take your pick; they're both outstanding.

Hard choice here, but Aliens i think would have a better eye popping look to it than alien, more action, more aliens, I would for sure buy both but i just think aliens would have the better transfer

I want the original Alien first, then Aliens. The last two were just recycled versions of the same theme.

The first Alien scared me Sh1tless when I saw it in the theatre!

The only good thing about the 4th one IMO is if you are Firflu fan, it is ineteresting to go back and see some of the ideas Joss had about that conecpt back then, as the crew of the small ship is loosely the same bunch of characters.

Alien gets my vote.

I'd definitely take the first two... maybe 3 and 4 if they were in a BOGO.

I would buy 1 & 2 only. I’ve owned all the other versions on DVD but only watched them one time. Only the first two have gotten repeat viewings from me.

As much as I love the second one, I question how good it would look in hi-def. It's a very grainy movie overall...and you know how much we love to discuss grain.

I had to give mine to Aliens. But like it was mentioned above me, part 2 has a lot more grain compared to the other 3. Does anyone know if it was that bad on other DVD versions, such as the old Alien Legacy box set? Besides that, though, Aliens is just one non-stop fun ride that has influenced a lot of other sci-fi flicks and video games (like the Halo dropships, remote sentry turrents, etc.). James Cameron is just a genius. Of course, Ridley Scott is too, so I'll definately get Alien afterwards.

To be honest, I want all four, although I voted for Alien for obvious reasons -- even though it's almost 30 years old, it looks virtually contemporary. It influenced the style of the blockbuster era more than even Star Wars -- especially in cinematography, which ought to look stunning in HD.

Hopefully Fox won't skimp out on the extras this time around, and we'll at least get everything that was on the Quadrilogy boxset.

If it had to be just one, I would prefer the first film. In reality the first 2 deserve the Blu treatment. I have to admit I would probably also buy Resurrection. It wasn't that great, but I still enjoyed it. Number 3 was a complete stinker.
