Default IGN says Watchmen is Dolby True HD

http://bluray.ign.com/articles/998/998589p2.html

In the article IGN says the True HD track on the watchmen shook with force. I thought the watchmen was supposed to have dts hd ma?

I did check up the specs of Watchmen as DTS HD MA, but I figured they would do it differently since it is Warner's flagship Blu ray for the summer.

Official box-art indicates WB will go DTS-HD MA with this disc.

Also keep in mind...this is IGN we are talking about. Some of the worst BD reviews out there, filled with mistakes all of the time.

IGN doesn't even watch these before reviewing them.

The article's author was privy to a preview of the Blu-ray Disc. So she (he? Cindy can be guy's name) is just guessing what the audio codec was.

Here is an excerpt from that article:
Quote:
It almost goes without saying that what we saw of the film looks and sounds stunning in full high definition too. The picture is vibrant and shiny, with nice definition and details. And the small conference room where we previewed the disc practically shook with the force of the Dolby TrueHD audio soundtrack.
Note the first sentence:
Quote:
It almost goes without saying that what we saw of the film looks and sounds stunning in full high definition too.
So this is not a proper review of the Blu-ray Disc itself. Just a first impression of the disc.

Oh and this is from the first page of the article:
Quote:
We watched an example of one of the 12 walk-ons included on the Blu-ray...
So again, it confirms that the article writer was never given a Blu-ray Disc to fully review. Its just a first impression, like I said, of some parts of the disc.

Will the US version be region locked or is too early to tell? I want the Director's Cut really badly.

It is Warner who is nearly 100% region free.

The back of the Director's Cut US version it shows 5.1 DTS-HD MA at least on this site. Bad news if it is DTHD because Warner probably only did an DTHD 16-bit like on Dark Knight. It will sound good, but not great.

I prefer both audio codecs, but nothing ever beats Linear PCM.
