Default Receivers With Video Processing Issues(info please)

Im concerned with purchasing a Receeiver that may end up having video processing issues, Im looking at purchasing my first receiver and have read many reveiws and dont seem to have a handle on whats worth what.

So if you would please give your opinions on receivers to avoid because of video issues, as I said I am new to this so I have a few questions......

1-if I want to run HDMI from cable receiver to a/v receiver to enjoy the audio will this effect video quality(hd programming through cable) if avr has poor processing?
2-If avr has poor video processing will it effect viewing blurays?

If possible help me understand what matters & if the video processing does make a major difference please let me know what avr to avoid because of video issues.

thanks
