Another Donnie Darko Sequel - Blu-ray Forum

It sounds like Fox is preparing to make another Donnie Darko sequel, and this time original writer/director Richard Kelly might be involved. I loved the original but didn't waste my time with S. Darko, but if Kelly returned I might consider watching a sequel. Right now this is strictly a rumor.

You do realize Richard Kelly was one of the writer's for S. Darko also right? and it was absolutely horrible!

he wasn't one of the writers....

he was credited as one for characters solely because they used characters from the 1st movie, which he did write.

Richard Kelly publicly stated that he didn't think the sequel should be made and he wanted no part of it. Fox went ahead with it against his wishes, but since it's based on his characters he gets a credit for it. I would assume if he is involved in a sequel it wouldn't acknowledge the events of S. Darko ever happened.

I wouldn't acknowledge it either. That was a pile of crap. Sorry I ever wasted time with it.

It really was a crappy movie. A few good laughs but it wasn't meant to be a comedy.
