Default tired of recomendations of Kuro

I'm getting tired that everyone here recommends the kuro when it's not an option for the OP. For example, someone asks should I get the 42" G10 $1300 or the 50" S1 $1350, and the answer get a $3000 kuro, nothing compares, is the best and everything else sucks. Almost everyone on this site knows that the kuro is the best but it's not the only option, there are tons of great tv's in the market. This makes the displays threads useless. And just when one suggests the kuro, every post after that is seconding the kuro. Of course, if the OP is looking for a similar priced tv then by all means recommend the kuro, but not when they´re asking for different ballparks. We should be more helpful

Shit like that happens in almost any thread. I've seen a guy ask for speaker recommendations on a $300.00 budget, and some bonehead still recommended a $1500 speaker. So in that sense I agree with your frustration.

John,

I think that they may still be in production but to end production within the year. I love my Pioneer Elite Kuro PRO-111FD, the nicest TV that I have owned and quite possibly the nicest TV that I have ever seen.

Why are they stopping if they're considered the best?

Economics and price. Though they are the best, they had a tremendous financial losses and can no longer afford these losses. It has been a question for the public of price versus quality and performance.

Rich,

I think you may be correct, I was just jumping on the "fun" wagon!. And yes, that model is outstanding. Wish I could have afforded one, but my Panasonic was a good second-best.

True dat! Dang TVs are/were bloody expensive. I've been watching/ogling Pioneer plasmas since 2005 but never imagined or planned for getting one this early. My game plan was to get it in 3-4 years of time, but when I heard they were done making plasmas I pleaded with my wife to lemme get it and boy am I glad!

Behold, how this thread became an example of the very thing you were talking about.

People recommend Kuro's because like many said they are simply the best. A Kuro, when properly calibrated to ISF standard, is a professional monitor. This is the standard that many studios use to verify their movies.

The OP should not be tired of Kuro recommendations. Rather, the OP should be upset that Pioneer is no longer making the best display on the planet.

No. Not in the market for a new TV, and if I were, I don't think I'd go that route.

No, it's not. You completely made that up, because you can't imagine it being otherwise.

You're completely missing the point of the OP. A pile of one-note responses that take no consideration of the parameters facing the shopper are just not helpful.
