Default Do they still put out Playstation Magazine with the demo discs?

I was thinking today that while I don't know if the PS magazine is still published and if it still includes a demo disc of games and whatnot, but I would think that if it was, wouldn't the PSN kinda put an end to the need for that?

Unless it was for people who don't have online connections for their PS3 or who have Dialup or whatever. Or maybe for those who don't want to download the games on their HD (limited space perhaps?).

Just wondering. I remember when the PS2 demo discs would be filling up the local pawnshop. No sleeves, just those demo discs on a spindle for like a buck. lol

No. They announced the retirement a couple of years ago and it was a sad day for me really. The witty stylish writing and format of the mag' gave me a lot of pleasure and I always looked forward to the next one more than any other magazine. Problem was, I guess, they felt they needed to upgrade to the 21'st century and since the PS3 was built in part to handle downloads, they wanted to promote that feature. However, I still miss the reviews etc. from the ols crew. They were a lot of fun and felt almost like family when one would read an issue cover to cover.

Nah, they don't anymore. The magazine itself still exists under another name, I believe, but they don't make demo discs anymore.

Also, BDs are still pricey and would cost more than the mag itself.

It's still on sale in the UK, £5.99 which is more than i would ever pay for a magazine. The blu-ray on the cover has demos on it (all from PSN) so not sure who their audience is, they'd be better off dropping the disc and the price.

OPM was the magaszine that had discs . they shut the doors and PSM took over hte official moniker and became PTOM .. initially they had announced doing discs in hte first couple of issues but then they announced that there were some kind of legal issues that stopped them from doing the discs ..

Well I get the magazine (and the disc) every month. Can't remember the last time I popped one of the discs in my PS3 though. They're useful for people who don't have internet (!) or have limits on their monthly usage.
