Its weird ive been drawn to movies i didnt like when i was younger on blu ray. Like something in me scretly really wants to pick them up. Like i was never fond of pinochio but i couldnt stop thinking about wanting to get it which i eventually did on day one. This is also the case for the upcomming wizard of oz and the newly announced willy wonka...

All these factors make it look like a jewel and you gotta have it. Even when you might not be totally crazy about the movie after all. PLUS, now that you're older and another classic that comes out in some super special edition, like Wizard of Oz, it makes you want to fall in love with the movie as an adult and really see how good it possibly is. Whereas, when I was a kid, no one was absolutely in love with The Wizard of Oz. All my friends and I ever wanted to watch was Batman or The Mask or Top Gun or something |

Nothing will ever make me want Wizard of Oz. But, last year, when American Werewolf in London was announced, I decided to give it another chance. I always thought it was stupid as a kid. But after watching it again, I realized that I only hated the song. And now nobody knows when it's supposed to be coming out and that makes me angry like a kid. So, I guess I know what you're talking about.

There are no factors that make me want to purchase a movie I do not wish to have. Not even the PQ of BD. I purchase movies I like and that I know I will want to watch over and over again. Everything else is reserve for a movie channel if I am curious to see it.

Pinochio is also one for me. Do not know if it was on video or SDVD and do not care, but on Blu, I had to have it. The reviews tipped the balance but I think it was nostalgic. The other one for me was The Searchers with John Wayne. Never really watched his films enough to want to buy, but this one for some reason was a must to own. Go figure.

For me it would be Black and white flicks, never liked as a kid,
but have come to love now, such as the original Day the earth stood still. |
