Default Blu-ray's winning largely due to PS3

Blu Ray holds a 5 to 1 lead in sales over HD DVD. I better stop writing and give you the link before IGN sues me.http://http://gear.ign.com/articles/798/798463p1.html

no wonder. but what will the PS4 holds for us? a yellu-ray player VS. HD blu from toshiba...... what people don't realize that thanks to PS2. the whole idea of the existance of DVD was possible. now thanks to PS3, blu ray exist. without Sony all this would have been but a dream.

THANK YOU SONY. YOU HAVE DELIVERED THE ULTIMATE IN HI DEF MOVIES, AND GAMES FOR ME TO ENJOY. YOU HAVE GIVEN ME THE REASON TO SEE EVERYTHING CLEARLY NOT IN 480I, 720P, OR 1080I.

BUT IN 1080P. SO FAR SONY HAVEN'T JUST DELIVERED THE ULTIMATE, BUT THEY HAVE WON MY TRUST ALONG TIME AGO. FOREVER, I AM YOURS...

Not surprised at all, and first sign of doom for HD DVD was when 360 Elite came out with HDMI but no built in HD DVD drive. MS knew thats how Sony is winning this format war yet they dont have enough confidence in their own product to promote it properly. MS basically raised the white flag and said, 'ok Sony, you win this time.'

So? The PS2 played a part in the adoption of DVD.

Cool is this where we go to state the obvious?

Of course the PS3 is supporting the Blu-Ray movement. I am not quite as sure about the whole PS2 DVD comment, there wasn't really a format war at that time. It was obvious that VHS had to die.

The PS2 was the huge mainstream adoption push for DVD

Of course this was bound to happen. Because of the PS2 it helped dvd sales and now with PS3 it's helping Blu-Ray sales. Sony knew what they were doing all along. People can blast them all they want, I just feel sorry for the 360 owners who were screwed by M$. A new updated system only a year and a half after the release of the first system? Sounds like they aren't too confident to me. Besides that given the VERY off chance that Blu Ray does lose the format war, the games will still be on Blu Ray, ensuring the games will be of high quality as opposed to a standard dvd-rom. I couldn't imagine something like MGS4 or FF13 on dvd, seeing as how it would take more than one for the whole game to fit.

Those folks at sony have the blu-ray thing going for them, now if they'll just get the fricking Playstation Store loaded I'll be happy.
