It'd be nice.... but it'd depend on who arranged it.... like Scorcese did with "the last waltz" or Dylan's "career"

Sure. I'm not the biggest boxing fan but I'd be up for seeing an ear bitten off in 1080p on a large set. Or better yet, some of the best highlights/KO's of all time.

Yeah that's true. I have an espn dvd with several Mike Tyson fights while he was still in his prime. I just think it would be cool to have them older fights enhanced in Blu Ray. I thought the Rocky Balboa movie was pretty impressive in blu ray, that one scene when he fights Antonio Tarver was great, so I can only imagine how a real fight would look and sound on blu. We'll see what happens, hopefully eventually something like that will come out in the near future.

Whenever I surf to ESPN and the classic fights are on I stop and watch for a long while. I love the classic feel of those Foreman, Frazier, Ali, Leonard, Duran fights. These contests would be cool with some BD treatment I'm sure.

even recent classics like gatti-ward (HBO) or corrales-castillo (showtime) would be great. nothing like watching a fight in HD (well, other than live)

Wow can you imagine the Gatti-Ward Trilogy on blu ray?? Or just Gatti's entire career period!

The only problem is I dont think a majority of the fights in the past were recorded in HD. Most likely they were done on video .......

Whiel I love watching fights in HD, not sure if there is a big enough market yet to even think about it...Shoot we hardly see SD DVDs of Boxing matches due to all of the people that own rights to the fights....There as recently a good article on ESPN on the Piracy of boxing matches and the lack of legitamite sources to "fill the need".....

There is nothing like a live fight in Vegas, but watching it in HD is a far second.....Watching SD just makes me sad, but will do if that is the only thing available....I probably wouldnt buy any, but I know there is a small number of fans that would...Its just a shame that it will probably never come to fruition, because of all the hands in the pot...

For any boxing fans out there, do yourselves a favor and watch 'When We Were Kings', if you haven't done so already. This is one of the best documentaries that you'll find out there.

Seeing as there is hardly anything like this on DVD I can't see that they will do it on Blu ray.

You CAN buy career sets of most major boxers, but they are "home made" and often terrible quality.

The Tyson documentary is coming out in August which I'll pick up, but I want to see Manny Pacquiao's career when it's all said and done.

Documentaries are ok. I would prefer a collection of their actual fights on Blu-ray tho.

Yeah, because of that reason (shot on video) I don't think most fights would benefit from a Blu release.
