United Kingdom Online Retailer Shipping Techniques!

Having not really ordered that much via online Blu-Ray retailers in the past I was curious as to how some of the more popular sellers handle their shipping. Mainly Amazon.co.uk, Play Uk and HMV uk: Who ships using jiffy bags, who uses corrugated cardboard wrap or bubble wrap and who uses tracking? What if I was to order say £100-200 worth of Blu-Rays, I'd like to hear any comments from buyers who have placed large orders with any of these sellers!

Well generally I dont order massive amounts of stuff at once I do it bit by bit because Big boxes can be a pain to deliver and they are more likely to get stolen in the post. But when I have they tend to ship one big box and small boxes, look around on Youtube for unboxing videos and that might help

When Amazon were doing there 3for2 offer I placed a couple of orders for 12-15 blu-rays and they were all sent individually in jiffy bags. Large orders (as in dimensions) are usually sent in cardboard.

I haven't ordered from play in awhile as amazon tends to be cheaper and I get more nectar points... but I think they tend to ship individually for single disks but in cardboard.

As for HMV, can't help you there...never founf anything worth buying at their prices...

I've ordered from Amazon UK several times (CD/BD/LP) and they were always shipped in cardboard. Pretty quick delivery as well considering I'm in Canada.

amazon uk is good at shipping. Quick turnaround and good packaging but no tracking. I have read that they would replace the disks if lost, but I do not have any personal experience on this.

Amazon offer you the choice for shipping. When I use to do big orders amazon bundled them together and shipped them all when avilable. If the order is to large enough they might split it up. They had that before with me.

Play on the other hand will ship them indervidually and in a jiffy usually as for HMV Not used in a while not but once I did a bulk order and get them indervidually but not sure if thats changed.
