To my eye the XBR9 beats the XBR6 as far as PQ goes.

Just my opinion anyway.

Coming from someone who has a XBR6, I think the PQ is much better on the XBR9.

Yeah I think I would upgrade to an XBR9. The colors on the XBR9 seem to be much better than the XBR6, plus the XBR9 has 240hz.

I've looked at the XBR9 a few times, and it looks like a solid TV, but my next TV will be a Panasonic TC-P50V10. This TV is Awesome! You should have a look at the Panny TC-P50V10, it might change your mind on getting an XBR9.

do the xbr9s still have that nasty auto dim shit ? I have an xbr4 and am waiting for them to come out with an update that fixs the problem. It is easy to test for just put on starwars When the screen goes to a star scene the screen dims.

bluskiff,

I dont think there is an update for it as of yet and yes the XBR9 has the auto dim feature. The only update of the auto dimming feature that Sony has come out with is for the 5100 series of HDTV's. I should know because I have the 52S5100 and I got the update but havent installed it of yet. Why? Because the auto dim feature really dont bother me that much. But its nice to have it just in case.

But the XBR9 rocks like hell.

Never even knew such a problem existed. Love my XBR4, I've never had any issues with it thus far

Even though I never noticed the auto dimming issue I did what you said and turned off the light sensor and if there was an issue it isnt anymore!

Default XBR4 settings

Since all of you like your XBR4, I have one as well and was wondering if you guys would post your settings for me. I have used previous settings from other posts but am still a little unconvinced. If you wouldnt mind sharing them that would be great!
