If this question was asked already or in another thread i didnt see it, i wont to know if you are running 2 subs in your reciever do you set the fronts for both or just let the subs do all the work, also what about for just one sub?

If you are asking "set the fronts" to mean, do you set them to large or let the subs do all the work, then no, do not set your fronts to large (unless you only have 2 fronts, then you would set them to Large.) You would want to set your fronts to small, with a starting crossover frequency of 80Hz, and then open the sub phase to its highest point and the volume at about 1/2 on the sub itself. Then in your receiver, set the sub's crossover at either 80Hz or 120Hz (whatever sounds good to your ears.) The same would apply if you had 1 sub, 2 subs or even 4 subs, except you would need to deal with many other variables with multiple subs. Let the sub handle the low frequencies as they were designed to do is my motto.

Like Forsburg said set the cross over in the reciever.Turn both subs to by-pass or as high as it goes for HZ (cut off frequency)on the back of each sub.

If your Both subs are facing in the front like mine put your phase alignment to 0 (which is also found on the back of each sub)

Just to let you know i find 80hz just right for my system ,.80hz is a good starting point

Good Luck

Onkyo calls this Double Bass and Denon calls it LFE+Main. When you set it, you will get bloated and boomy bass in addition to some phase cancellation in the bass frequencies. It is a bad option and should be banned. They should fine the companies that offer this option.

Use only the Sub or LFE in the menu.

Aslo, it may be helpfull to read A Guide to Bass Management.

I think the rule of the thumb is to set all your speakers to SMALL and let the subwoofer work. Will this be fine if your speaker are really big, like mine with 8" woofers ? Thanks.

Yes, my front speakers have 15" built-in subwoofers with built-in 300 watt amplifiers. In addition to those, I have 4 external subwoofers in the room. When I set the front speakers to SMALL, the quality of the sound (both music and movies) improves.

People have a psycological difficulty with the word SMALL. They have spent good money on their front speakers and get insulted when the AVR sets them to SMALL. Remember that this is not a personal insult. We should change the words SMALL and LARGE to:

LARGE: No bass mangement.
SMALL: Speakers are Bass Managed.

In conclusion, set your front speakers to Bass Managed.

Great analogy on the word play, sadly, there are a lot of peopel who've been confused by this and have opted the 'large' settings due to such.

ive always used the reference as well, but call it as crossover settings...

*sigh*... its good to be back.
