Hello,
Remember what your settings are, or copy them down. Then I would do a hard reset. I used to own one of these players and I remember reading in the book on how to do this. These are small computers and sometimes you need to reboot.

This happened to me when player was just two months old - afraid to say it was the drive/laser that had failed - later upgraded to Panasonic BD30

well today i decided to get a new player...Pany DMP Bd 31. It seems to me it works better than s-300, both in PQ and AQ, plus now i can get the HD audio codes DTS Master Audio and Dolby True HD with my Onkyo 606 and that it's a huge improvement

Anyway i plan to fix the S-300 in the next weeks and give it to my parents or my brother.

First question should be "What version firmware you using?" 4.90 is the latest.

Sometimes unplugging the unit helps it reset. Got nothing to lose if you have another HDTV to try it on.
