Which speaker brand should i consider?

my price range is $500-700 that is for speakers only not subwoofer. I had s9100x might consider sell it, only get the speaker that is better sound than the one i had before, i aleady dump my old receiver onyko ht-r960 to pionner elite 03vsx

I currently consider energy, jbl, and polk and other good brand around my price range?

Polk, POlk, POLk, POLK!!!! I just upgraded my Polk's for BIGGER polks M60's for the fronts, CS10 Center and M30's for surrounds. HUGE difference is quality and sound. I got all including a Bic America 450watt 12" sub for under $800. Best purchase for my HT yet.

Energy and Polk's are good choices. I did not like the sound of the JBL's and Klipsch's when I auditioned speakers. Try to get someplace that has the Pio receiver and take a listen to various brands. Your ears will tell you which ones are best for your budget.

Another option is to by speakers in steps. Spend your budget on good set of fronts and then add a center and surrounds later.

Check out the Infinity Primus p362.. Good for the price I hear. But you can't settle on anything until you listen to it. So go to an Audio store and crank up some tunes on everything they have. I have some Infinity Beta 50s and love them.

I have Polks...like everyone else here. It's so safe to say "Polk", but you can do a lot better than that.

you may think this really isnt an answer to your question but i would say to consider ALL brands and choose what YOU feel sounds the best for your budget. dont go into it excluding any products until you audition them yourself

of the 3 I would suggest Energy, but if you open up your search you may find something else you prefer more. Other things that may be in your price range could be Monitor Audio BR5, KEF iQ5 or iQ7, PSB Alpha T1, Energy C-300 or C-500s.

I am not going to say that Polks and JBL are not good speakers, but I feel that the ones listed above are all "better" for lack of a better description. You may only be able to get the front 3 speakers to start (unless you put a package together with the Energys C-300) but buying a little more slowly would be better then all at once and getting speakers that aren't as good.

Try to audition all that you can in your area.
