Germany A.I. - Artificial Intelligence

German site areadvd has published the list of Warner releases for next July. There is not much exciting there, with one big exception:

Steven Spielberg's A.I. Artificial Intelligence is announced for July 24.

And before you ask: yes, A.I. is a Warner title in Europe.

Well it's good news we see more and more Spielberg's movies being release in BD, while this is far from being a favorite of mine, with luck those I want will become available soon.

Good to hear that a Spielberg title is coming out but count me out on buying this movie, thought it utterly sucked.

Amen.

I distinctly remember the day I saw this in theaters. My boyfriend and I got stuck in traffic and ripped it apart for about an hour.

Post SPR Spielberg sucks.

I disagree. I liked Minority Report, AI and Munich a lot.

If it's region free, I'm sure I'll get it. Maybe I'll actually make it through the whole movie for once. For whatever reason, the movie really gets to me so I usually stop watching once it turns really sad.

I liked A.I., but I didn't love it. I'd pick it up on BD, but only if it's fairly cheap. That means I won't be importing this one.

A.I.: Artificial Intelligence is a great film. I cannot wait to add it to my Blu-ray library. I really hope it is region free.

Wow, I guess this is one of those love it or hate it type of movies. I enjoyed it, found it to be somewhat thought-provoking. It also had some eerie moments and HJO did a pretty good job playing his role.

I'm not surprised. That's why I noticed that in some countries, some movies were released on both formats, or the complete oposite, when HD DVD was still alive. One example being the fantastic four movies, or even Resident Evil, which were BLU-RAY exclusive in America.

It could be said A.I. is a Kubrick project that Speilberg directed/finished.
Regardless, day one purchase for me!

For me a foreign release of a Spielberg flick is nothing to get excited about. When the douche's ovies start releasing over here, that will be nice... one day.

It's a step in the right direction, and it certainly is better than no release at all. If it's a title you want then import the bad boy. Remember that importing is our friend, and it's always good to have Blu-rays of films you love whether it is an American release or from another country. You need to think of it as planning for the future, because that is exactly what Blu-ray is.

I get what you're saying, and I agree...to an extent, but only where Spielberg is concerned do I disagree (that might sound a little obtuse, but Oh well). Actually, several of the movies in my collection are imports.

I just think it's a little ridiculous that the man has stated his "so-called" support of Blu-ray in the past yet has released only a couple and hasn't announced anything for the future...domestically.
