Default Reign Over Me ending...

For the people who have seen the movie, how did you feel about the ending? I liked it because I felt that Adam Sandler's character was finally opening up to a stranger. Cheadle's character was feeling free on the scooter. And the ending had a sense of relaxation for everyone.

But the crazy girl I watched it with was arguing with me over the sudden ending. She says, "The movie was looong, then it just ends like that?! Wtf is that?!"

What are your thoughts?

Great movie. When Adam Sandler finally told Cheadle what happened to his family I lost it.

Its a pretty a good solid ending, not too much mystery in the air, its not like some interpretive ambiguous ending like the sopranos finale or anything.

Is that the film where Adam Sandler looks like Bob Dylan?

Yeah, Sandler was pretty remarkable in that scene.

Yes, everything came together at the end. What more did the OP's "crazy" friend want to see?

As an aside, I thought it pretty neat that Sandler's character played videos on a home theater type system with front projection.

Not to mention one of the best games on PS2 , Shadow of the Colossus. I love this movie, so good.

She says she wanted to see what happens to Charlie. She wanted to know what happened when the family returned to court. She said nothing was resolved.

Perhaps they just "jumped forward" in time.
[Show spoiler]The court judge firmly, but compassionately, left to the Timplemans to decide Charlie's fate. The movie simply moved forward to the future where Charlie was moving into a new apartment, and a new chapter in his life - a better chapter.

I'll definitely watch this movie again, and when I do, I'll look at it with respect to this post, I'm sure.

I think from what I understood about the movie. that Adam, and Cheadle's characters needed each other. one was depressed, and out of control while the other was was so much in control and had things planned way ahead of himself. I thought the chemistry development between both men was pretty cool.

I think without a doubt that this is Adam Sandler's best movie. I was very surprised how good it was. I think the ending to the movie was perfect the way it was.

This is in my top 3 favorite movies. There's something about it that gets me every time I watch it. Just the intro with Charlie Fineman gliding through the city on his goped with "Simple Man" by Graham Nash playing, instantly connects me with the heart of the film.

The ending was perfect..
[Show spoiler]his life finally turned around. That, and he got that hot weird girl.

Wonderful movie -- fitting ending. Whats to complain about? I totally lost it when Charlie explained to the Timplemans why he didn't need the pictures.

I look forward to buying the Blu.
