I think the critics did not like it and so it was not much of a blockbuster at the theaters. But the reviews are stellar for the Blu-ray disc including the movie itself and I can't wait to buy it. I am plannning to buy it on the 16th to help the cause against Transformers.

Got this from Netflix today. The wife and i will check it out this weekend. I'm looking forward to it, as it's from the same writer/director of The Upside Of Anger, which was a great Kevin Costner comedy from a year or two back. If you liek Reign Over Me, definitely check out The Upside Of Anger (it's New Line, so it's only on standard def for now).

its a enjoyable movie but i don't think it really broke any new ground , adam sandler played the role well the man can act (punch drunk love) and minor spoiler , that court room scene is pretty much out of nearly every movie that he's been in.

I have bought a couple of great films on blu-ray The Lives of Others and Black Book. I truly enjoyed them. However, those type of films do not sell very well at this point in the development of the format.

got it on pre-order. Amazon just hasn't shipped the damn thing yet. I saw it in the theater. It is an excellent movie.

I thoroughly enjoyed it. Until Click I didn't care for Adam Sandler, but after seeing it and Reign Over Me I've completely changed my stance. The man can act. Very powerful and moving.

Reign Over Me seemed incomplete to me. I won't give anything away for those who haven't seen it, but it could have been done a lot better. I do own it though, because some scenes are just that good.

I really, really hated The Upside of Anger. I thought the script was exceedingly poor. I wasn't planning on getting Reign Over Me anyway, but now I definitely will avoid it.

Same here. I've bought so many movies recently it is taking a while to get to all of them. Hopefully I'll get a chance to watch Reign Over Me this weekend though.

I thought the movie was good, and I was impressed with the versatility of Adam Sandler in playing such a role, he's definitely not one of those actors who comes across as the same character no matter what movie he's in. However I did feel it became rather laboured and drawn out later on, like it had run out of fresh ideas but felt the need to last a certain amount of time regardless.

Technically it was outstanding, a high bitrate AVC encode that really couldn't be faulted. Many low light scenes had significant grain, but hey that's low light and high ISO film for you.

I found it to be a very powerful movie. I hate to admit it, but the scene in which Charlie finally opens up to his parents (after the trial) put a lump in my throat

I got that same feeling from knocked up... And I think Adam Sandler proved he can do more than comedy's.

It definitely had some very emotional scenes, but not nearly as emotional as Stranger Than Fiction - at least to me.

I watched this and LOVED it, great movie IMO. I watched it again with my wife and she LOVED it as well. I would recommend it to anyone.
