Default Blu-ray player doesnt communicate with receiver

I have a Samsung P1500 bluray player and a Onkyo SR606 reciever, connected to each other using a hdmi cable. Both are about 7 months old. A couple months ago when I would put a disc in the blueray player the tv screen would be blank but the bluray player would show the disc was playing.

I have unplugged the hdmi cable out of the back of the bluray player and plugged it into my xbox 360 and it would work. Plug it back into my bluray player and nothing. Plugged the bluray player directly to the television and it would work. Plugged it back into the reciever and nothing. I have tried different hdmi inputs on the back of the reciever and the same exact thing. For some reason the bluray player and the reciever apparently like each other anymore. I did the firmware upgrade on my bluray player and that did nothing. I switched out cables and that wasnt any help either.

The cable I am using now isnt a 1.3 cat 2 high speed hdmi cable. I dont know if that will make any difference or not. Anyone have any ideas for me?

Thanks
