2.39:1 projection? - Blu-ray Forum

I have been wondering this for a while since I don't have a projector (yet). Is it possible to make 2.35 or 2.40 your native screen shape and have 1.85 sources have black bars on the side? I'd much rather have a screen be 2.40 than 1.78.
