Default Sony BD player turns off when TV turned off (?)

i have a sony 360 hooked via HDMI to a sony 720 receiver, in turn hooked via HDMI to a panasonic plasma. also hooked to the receiver is a sony 5-disc dvd changer. i discovered that if i turn off the tv, the BD player will turn off as well. this happens whether the receiver is set to "blu ray" or "dvd" or any other source setting. this has never happened with the dvd player. anyone have any thoughts on why this is happening and how it could be corrected? thanks for any info.

That has to do with the HDMI Consumer Electronics Control(CEC) that is a part of the HDMI Spec. It enables a viewers components to speak to eachother over the hdmi cable. It can usually be disabled in the player menu, receiver menu, and television menu but you would have to look at the manual or ask others with those specific devices.

Sony call it Bravia Theatre Sync..Look for that in your manual.
Panasonic call it Viera Link..Others probably have their own name for it
