Default Questions on all newer audio codecs used in Blu-ray and hd dvd

Disclaimer! I am not here to start a war between the two media formats. This is more of "clearing the air" sorts of questions between all audio codecs involved.

My "questions" are below. Please let me know which ones are right and which ones are wrong.

1. Dolby Digital (DD1) - The old school one. Mandotary in all DVD Players, as well as HD DVD and Blu-ray.

2. DTS (DTS1) - Pretty old school. Was optional in DVD players. But now mandatory in HD DVD and Blu-ray.

3. Dolby Digital Plus (DD+) - A new compression system based on the original DD1. But NOT backwards compatible. Which means, it CANNOT be decoded with DD1. DD+ is also implemented very different for both HD DVD and Blu-ray, right?

4. Dolby Digital Plus HD DVD - Since it is mandatory for HD DVD players to decode DD+ in full 5.1, it should not cause too much trouble. Right?

5. Dolby Digital Plus Blu-ray - It is OPTIONAL for Blu-ray to include DD+. However, DD Plus has the same idea as DTS-HD High Resolution, a "core" + "extension" system. If a player has only a DD1 decoder, it will only decode the "core" substance of 640kbps. Right?

6. While the full blown DD+ decoder is able to decode both CORE AND EXTENSION of the entire DD+ thingy, to give you the full DD+ quality. Right?

7. Dolby TrueHD (DTHD)- Based on MLP. Now used as a lossless codec for HD DVD and Blu-ray.

8. Dolby TrueHD HD DVD - Mandatary, but also mandatory at only 2.0.

9. Dolby TrueHD Blu-ray - OPTIONAL. If there's a Dolby TrueHD on a BD, there MUST be a DD1 as a complete seperate track, totally not related to DTHD. Two completely unrelated files. Not the "core" + "extension" system used in DD Plus and DTS-HD HR and DTS-HD MA Right?

10. DTS-HD High Resolution (DTS-HD HR) - Optional to both, but works the same way. Similar to DD+ on BD. A "core" + "extension" format. When there is no HR decoder, the DTS1 decoder (which is mandatory to both HD DVD and BD) will kick in to decode the "core" portion. And also, simiar to DD+ BD, both are LOSSY compression. Right?

11. DTS-HD Master Audio (DTS-HD MA) - Same "core" + "extension" like DD+ DTS-HD HR BUT just this is LOSSLESS. Right?

So far so good?

12. When we see just DTS-HD logo on a player, (no HR, no MA) does it mean it decodes only DTS-HD HR? or does it decode both HR or MA? Or is it something else entirely?

13. If the answer is something else entirely, then what does the DTS-HD logo RAELLY mean?

14. If a player has DTS-HD MA decoder, will it be able to decode DTS-HD HR?

15. Taking CHRONOS on HD DVD and Blu-ray as an example. Wouldn't DTS-HD 96/24 be the same as the old DTS 96/24 like on the old DVDs or is there actually a difference between DVD and HD/BD?

Ok, that's it for now. If there's anything you need to clarify with me, please do not hestitate. Thank you for reading. And if you are able to answer any questions, I'd really appreciate as well.

Above all, please keep it clean with no format wars.
