Default My HDMI wire was made by....

The wires for the HDMI cables are made in either China or Taiwan as well, with one exception as far as I know. The termination of the HDMI cable is done in China and Taiwan, with no exception. This certainly seems to be the case in the US and probably for Canada as well.

I am curious as to how many factories make the HDMI cables for the US and the world in general? All cables sold have Underwriters Laboratories, or UL, certificate numbers printed on them. This certificate number can be looked up at the UL Certificate Database. The certificate number looks like this printed on the cable:

"E123456"

For example my 6' Monoprice HDMI cable has a certificate number of E119932; the link states that the wire was made in Taiwan:

COPARTNER TECHNOLOGY CORP
FAR EAST CENTURY PARK, 4TH FL
16 CHIEN PA RD
CHUNG HO CITY, TAIPEI HSIEN TAIWAN

My other 6' BJC HDMI cable has a certificate number of E108998; to my knowledge, the company below is the only one that makes HDMI wire in the US:

BELDEN WIRE & CABLE CO
2200 US HWY 27 S
RICHMOND, IN 47374 USA

The cables with nylon braid cover up the UL certificate number, but it's there. The braid probably servers other purposes as well, not just make it easy to claim it's been made in XYZ country.

I am curious just how many Asian factories are out there that make the wiring for HDMI cables? Please post your HDMI cable UL certificate number here. We may learn a thing or two...
TIA...

Neat thread idea. I have three (two in use).

Cables2Go Velocity HDMI cable:
E101344(-D)
SPACE SHUTTLE HI-TECH CO LTD E101344
226 WU-HO ST 4 LIN
WU-LUNG VILLAGE
CHIUNG-LIN HSIANG, HSINCHU HSIEN 307 TAIWAN

Blue Jeans Cable Belden Series 1 HDMI cable:
E108998
BELDEN WIRE & CABLE CO E108998
2200 US HWY 27 S
RICHMOND, IN 47374 USA

Monster Cable 1000hd right-angle Ultra High Speed HDMI cable:
E194702
MONSTER CABLE PRODUCTS INC E194702
455 VALLEY DR
BRISBANE, CA 94005 USA

That last one tells me these codes aren't necessarily a link to the manufacturing facility, but rather the license holder...so Belden can, whenever they want, outsource their cable production, and as long as they maintain the license, the information will remain as stated above.

That sounds right and even the UL number doesn't mean much it seems; as far as the actual cable's origin is concerned that is. We can just easily say, anywhere but in in the US...
