crouching tiger english truehd audio track question

i just imported the uk version from amazon and watched it last night i was blown away by the video quality but the english track i had to really crank up quite a bit on my onkyo reciever to hear it properlly. I was wondering if the us version is plauged with the same problem?

i normally watch my foreign blus in its original language with subs but fiancee is not a fan of reading while watching a movie she feels if she is going to have to read she rather read a book because movies are for watching.. seeing and experiencing.

I prefer the original language and subs but my fiancee wont watch a film entirely if she has to read subs. She isnt really fond of martial arts films in the first place i guess its the same on the us release then
