Default Amazon consolidating shipments?

Amazon have been running some promotion of three Blu-ray movies for the price of two recently. Seemed an acceptable deal so ordered three that were all ex-stock, with an expectation that I would receive them within a week or so. Not so.

I assumed that the six plus weeks they were quoting for delivery was a worst possible case scenario. Again not so. It would appear that they are only shipping to Australia when they get a pallet – container – 747 Freighter full. Or whatever.

Emails have confirmed that they did "ship" my order on the 14th August, and yes I will have them by the 21st September. <sic> Following my complaints they have reimbursed me for the shipping costs I incurred, but I want the blu-ray disks now. Not impressed at all.

cant comment on buing from out of country but when i order from amazon, thier dates they quote are to be taken literally. when i called and asked about shipment and why one was taking so long, they re-quoted what was already stated on my order. so basically, if its spelled out for you, why did you expect something else? why would you assume?

.... ..... That Stinks.

Seems like you had a rare experience from what I can tell. I have nothing but praises from Amazon. I have always received great fast service. I have ordered movies from Amazon, Amazon UK, and Amazon France.
