Amazon Pre-orders & Shipments - Blu-ray Forum

Hey guys. I wanted to know how Amazon is with the shipment of pre-ordered blu-rays. If a film is ordered and it is released on the 2nd, will it arrive here on the 2nd or the days after?

They almost always ship out the day before release and I usually get them 2 days later with amazon prime. So if you opt for overnight shipping, you will get it on release day.

I've notice most BD pre-orders ship out Sunday/Monday before the release date and I get it on the release date with two day shipping.
The only exception I've ever had was with WALL•E, I got it the day after.

Almost all of my DVD/BD preorders ship the Monday before and arrive on release day Tuesday. I have Amazon Prime and use the free 2-day shipping.

I usually get them the day of release if its a big title. Others come the day after release date. I have Prime.

9 out of 10 times I receive new releases from Amazon on release day, if not, the next day. (That's with Amazon Prime - 2 Day Shipping)

For me it depends on what location the items ship from... if it ships from Louisville, KY, I get it on release day... Shipment from anywhere else it takes longer.

The reason is because for my pre-orders, they are listed as like a delivery date of December 4th for an item such as WANTED...I have noticed that all the delivery dates are 2 days after the release date. Is this common the way Amazon puts it or is that really when it's gonna be delivered (sorry I never have pre-ordered anything from Amazon)...I want to also save gas and with busy schedule on Tuesdays, it's hard to get the items that day.

99% of the time, I get the flick a day after the release date w/ Prime.

I almost died when I got "Wall-ee" a day before it was out.

I love Amazon. I used to buy everything at Best Buy but Amazon usually beats them in price and the disc is shipped to my door. You cant beat that.

I have Prime as well and always get my movie on the day of release. I do live in California and they are just coming from Nevada, so that may be why.

i placed my first order last week, preordered TDK and Lost S4, both on blu. Requested free shipping. From what I hear it will likely arrive 1 week after release day, anyone?

See, I am not the only one that wonders this...yeah I got prime as well...I think if an item doesn't have any specials on it, I will just use amazon...that way, I won't pay for tax neither.

It usually arrives in like 3 or 4 business days for me.

It also probably depends on where you live. There must be a warehouse near Dallas because I always go with the free shipping and blu-rays usually get to me within 2 to 3 days of the release despite not shipping until the release date.

I agree, I think location is important for shipping speed. Anytime I preorder something I always receive it the day of release. I got Resistance 2 on the day it came out even though I only ordered it two days before hand.

I live in Bellevue, WA which is the same city that Amazon is headquartered in.
