Default Harmony PS3 adapter HELP

Has anyone had this problem: Its all programed. But when I go to the action watch movie everything works except the PS3 does not power up. Once I turn it on manually everything works. Then to turn off, I have to turn off via this PS3 off option.
I really would like it to turn on with the push of ONE button.

It will help if we know which one you have.

I have the IR2BT and only have that problem if the IR is obstructed. The macro runs for a few seconds on my Harmony One so I need to make sure I either set it down to where it still points to my devices or I have to hold it until the transmit icon disappears.

OK thanks I am using the Harmony 550 and the logitech adapter that cost 60 bucks. No obstruction. Not sure of what other settings might be?

The only thing I can think of is to make sure the power options are set up right for the activities. They can be set to not turn things on/off so that may be the problem. If not, I'd start from scratch. Erase the PS3 from your profile, update the remote, reset the adapter, reload the PS3, then repair the two. If that doesn't work I'd think something is wrong.

If this doesn't work try repairing the device in the PS3

Obviously, you'll want to keep the remote pointed at the receiver during the power-on process.

I had a stretch there for a while when I had to keep re-registering the device in the BD menu on the PS3, so yes I've had that same problem. But then one day it stuck and I haven't had to mess with it since.

Re Paired and everything is running. I tell you, if you are not using a harmony remote, you are missing out. When I first saw them and the price, I laughed. Not now. Cant see how to live without it.

Thanks everyone!!!

I also have the 550 with the PS3 Adapter from Logitech.

It's a great combo. Mine also had an issue were it stopped working properly, I did the same, repair it with the PS3 and it works great again.

I've had issues with my harmony one and the logitech ps3 adapter. Sometimes the remote will not work for the ps3. Sometimes it will turn the ps3 on and stop working after that. I have to turn the ps3 off from the back and turn it on again until it works again. Anyone know what this problem might be?

I too have had issues. Periodically the PS3 and Harmony adapter will unpair. It happens maybe every 6 weeks. I have not been able to determine any sort of pattern or fix for it, so I do not know how to fix the problem.

Thanks. I was just wondering if it was an isolated problem I was having. Getting kind of worried that my bluetooth device was going bad or something. Its not out of its one year warranty yet so I'm wondering if I should send it in for repairs.

I have a Harmony 880 for everything except the PS3. I'm not willing to spend more on that Logitech receiver for the PS3.
I don't get what the big deal is for this. I turn everything on with the Harmony, turn the PS3 on with its remote, then I have to get up and go over to the PS3 anyway to put a disc in.
Is someone using some kind of magic wher the game disc or movie disc goes in your PS3 without you having to get up?
Save yourself a little money and just use the 2 remotes. I have managed to replace 12 remotes with my harmony so no biggie.
Just my 2 cents.
For what it's worth I was going to buy the Logitech adapter until I saw the price. That was actually ridiculous. If it was like 20 bucks I wouldn't have a problem with it.

With all the troubles in the world, I agree that having two remotes instead of one isn't that big of a deal. However, the whole point of a universal remote is so you have one remote that controls everything. Those, like me, who choose to spend too much on an adapter probably seem a bit silly, but I just chalk it up to my obsessive nature, a common trait here in the a/v community.

I hear ya. I'm the same way with my stuff. In regards to your Harmony though call their tech support. I've never had anything but great service with them. They'll get your problem fixed. I had quite a few things I needed help with and they hooked me up every time.
I hope you get it fixed.

By the way, I checked out your gallery. Very nice indeed. Swing by mine and take a look if you get a chance.
And call Logitech.
