Default Sammy UN55B8000 Display issues

I picked up this TV at Sears during the VIP Event. Anyway, once I had turned the settings to a more pleasing setting, I could plainly see that the corners were dark. Not completely black, but noticeably darker when the scenes were bright, i.e. outdoor scenes. It was so obvious to me that I ended up taking the set back for a refund. I was able to reproduce this effect on the floor model in front of the sales person.

Anybody else notice this on their sets? A google search shows it may be an inherent problem with the edge-lit LED's.

I am asking because I am now considering going with a Plasma because I currently have a 61" Sammy DLP and don't want to go down too much in size. After all, when talking TV's, size DOES matter.
