Default Colored Flecks in Plasma TV Picture

I have a Samsung FPT5084 Plasma TV which occasionally displays colored flecks or snow in the dark areas on the screen. It seems to appear regardless of the source; Blu-ray, HD Cable box, or XBox. Sometimes the picture is perfect, sometimes the flecks are only noticeable close-up, and other times it is very noticeable while sitting ten feet away. This just began appearing about a month ago, I’ve had the TV for nearly 2 years.
I thought it might be a power issue so I purchased a Monster Cable MP HTS850 Power Center in hopes of removing any noise. This didn’t improve anything.

Any Suggestions / Ideas?

Thanks,
Jeff

How are all of these connected to the TV?

If you connect them to a receiver, and then send a single HDMI cable to the television it could be a cable or connector issue. Try other inputs and cables to see if this solves the problem.

If it is over a range of inputs, then it is most likely the panel. I would suggest playing with your settings to see if any of those may be causing the artifacting. Otherwise you may be SOL, and need to get it repaired.

Thanks for the reply,
All sources are on individual HDMI cables. In the few short days since I posted the issue has become even more noticeable. I have four months left on the original warranty so I'm going to call Samsung.

Yes, call Samsung. Use that warranty!

If those specs are of a bluish nature, I've had this problem also... I called for the service to come out and the guy did something with the remote... Sort of went into the calabration menu and made an adjustment. Didn't really want to tell me what he did, and didn't want to exp[lain it much either.
It removed the specks, however I realize you need to view more full screen video programming or movies to fight this off.

I have the Samsung HPS4253. 42" Plasma, going on 3yrs now.
