Default Is anyone a fan of "The Proposition"?

If you like your westerns dark and gritty, I highly recommend "The Proposition" starring Guy Pearce, Ray Winstone, Danny Huston and John Hurt. I don't want to spoil it, but I will say that it has one of the darkest premises I have seen in a movie. Check it out.

It's great. Don't forget the non-traditional score for a western.
There are many Proposition fans on this forum.

Excellent movie and it looks great on Blu, plus it's under $15.00 most places.

One of the first Blus to have been released with a retail price less than $15. Worth every cent.

Yeah, a very beautiful, haunting and minimalist score. I think Nick Cave (the musician), who wrote the movie, also wrote/co-wrote the score. I guess he is, to some degree, a fan of westerns as I remember his bit part in The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford (the singer in the bar towards the end of the movie).

By the way, is there another thread on The Proposition (which is one of my favourite movies from one of my favourite genres)?

There's a lot of threads on the Proposition.

Yeah, Cave and one of the other Bad Seeds also did the score for Jesse James. Warren somebody, i think?

Agreed, as long as you include 3:10 to Yuma, as well.

I enjoyed it, especially John Hurt's character. Oh and Emily Watson. Mmmm, Emily Watson.
