Default Does anyone keep an emergency kit in their home?

Just curious if anyone keeps one handy-and if they do, what do they keep in it(flashlights, candles, food, etc....)? Its something that I know is important-but I haven't got around to doing it yet.

1saleaday.com sold me a backpack that had all sorts of emergency supplies in it (MREs, first aid stuff, a few tools, radio and flashlight that require no batteries, gloves, rope, and probably other stuff). Supposedly, it's approved my Homeland Security. I keep it in the closet right now; I figure it'd come in handy in the event of the apocalypse.

We have everything; syrups, painkillers, pills, bandages, etc. That's what you get when your mom's a nurse.

Well, my neighbors are all pacifist, hippie types. And well... I'm not, so I have access to pretty much anything I need.

Joking.

I keep a small duffel bag in my car with a first aid kit, radio, flashlight, flaregun and small tool kit. Pluss I live in FL, so right now I have plenty of canned goods on hand just in case.
