Default My blinker doesn't blink.

I have a 1995 Ford Bronco. About 2 months ago the blinker on the turn signal started getting slower and slower until about a week or so ago it just stopped. I replaced all the turn signal bulbs. Any other ideas on what it might be?

Thanks,

It's probably a fuse or electrical problems, might want to get it looked at, cops probably won't pull you over for a turn signal but you never know. Plus if that thing doesn't work it increases the chances you'll get hit from the side or rear-ended.

Cash for Clunkers! I just cashed in on that deal by giving them an '87 F-150 for an '09 F-150 XLT long bed listed at 32 g's and walked out paying 22. Yay!

That's an idea, but I love my truck, and cannot afford a car payment.

It's most likely your blinker fuse (not sure the proper name). It's a large 'box' in your fuse box that controls the blinking of the turn signals. Your manual should identify it for you, or it's identified on the fuse box inside cover. Shouldn't cost you more than a couple bucks.

That would be my guess as well. I believe that is called a relay, and yeah it should/might be in your engine compartment (as opposed to the other fuse panel(s) inside the car down under your dash).

That's only a guess. It sounded right, so I went with it. It likely has a fuse inside it, so technically "fuse" is probably just as good.

Let us know how it goes, officially. Nothing like a little DIY car repair advice from a home theater forum.

I figured there must be a motorhead among us somewhere. It was actually called the "buss flasher" and it was the round silver thing in the fuse panel on the dash.

Thanks again!@

Almost as good as "You need and electrical system flush".

Or water makes your car run better than gasoline.

at least your blinker didn't stay stuck on like it does in my wife's P.O.S. Hyundai Tiburon (I don't understand how this company is still selling cars) - if you let it blink more than three times, the relay freezes open - the only way to fix it is to pull the main board from under the dash and find a TV repair shop willing to fix the $3 relay by unsoldering the old one out and soldering the new one back in

What's funny is Hyundai is getting into the "luxury car" business. How they plan on penetrating that market is beyond me, but I'll have fun watching.

No, I mean not stuck on blinking but stuck on illuminated - even when the car is off and turn signals shouldn't be getting power

Glad you figured it out, Ed! I had blinker issues with my '98 Ford F150 (they'd stop working, and I could pound on the dash under the steering wheel to get them back for a little while), it turned out to be the signal flasher relay, which sounds similar or the same as to your issue. The relay had to be replaced under the dash.
