I have been looking at plasma TV's for the last couple of weeks, and the Kuro comes highly recommended by just about everybody. I would probably get a 50"' plasma, but with Pioneer pulling out of the TV business, would you guys still suggest buying one. I would imagine Pioneer would still offer support and back their products if anything goes wrong with them. What do you think?
If it's no to the Pioneer, any other suggestions for a good 50'' plasma for about $2000. Jim S |

ABSOLUTELY you should...it's still the best television on the market even though it's discontinued. Pioneer will of course back it, but if you're looking to purchase from Best Buy (and I would hope so), just get their 4 year protection because in 4 years you'll be able to get a better television anyway if the Kuro takes a dive.
I own a Pioneer myself, and if I had the money, I'd buy another one just for the hell of it. Other notable plasmas in that size are the Panasonic G10 series, and the Samsung 850...both close enough to the Pioneer, but I would honestly buy even an open box Pioneer before either of those. Pioneer said they would back there plasma products until 2017, so you are fine there. As an owner of the a Pioneer Pro-151-FD I would recommend it as the best TV currently on the market.
However if you are not in a rush Cedia is in a couple of weeks and you will be able to see the current crop of TV's that are going to try and take its spot at the top. |

Go for it.
With that budget, if not the Kuro, then you should buy the V10 from Panasonic. You'd be very happy. ![]() |

DO NOT HESITATE if that's the set you want. Aside from being very reliable as is the case with most Pioneer products they will continue to honor warranties and supply parts for years to come. I just got my Kuro the other day myself. If for some reason you can't get one the Panasonic V10 is the next best thing. Good luck on your hunt for a Kuro!

I bought mine a couple of weeks ago and I really enjoy it. Like everyone else here has already said.............the blacks are great and the TV is really tweakable..........it comes with a good manual (over 160 pages and it's all in English).......................you can get a good deal right now...........don't hesitate.

There is a great deal on a Pioneer 50" at Sam's Club. It's a Sam's Club auction, but you have to be a member of Sam's club, but it might be worth it though, because you can get this TV at a great price. Also someone told me that if you sign up for a membership, you can cancel it right after you buy a TV, and get you money back for the membership.

Anyone know anything about this company? The price for the 151 is unbelievable...which leads me to not believe it. Scam?
