Default Bought a new TV... *Pioneer Kuro 60" PLASMA*

Used the money we received from the wedding to get a new TV that would fit the maximum allowable TV for our entertainment center. Went with the Pioneer Kuro 6020FD 60" plasma. With tax and my Best Buy discount it was $3,888.

http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage....=1210290067556

Got it hooked up and placed last night....(Warning: horrible camera phone pic)

It's unreal how great Blu-ray's look on this thing. Screened Godfather Part III, Sleeping Beauty and Beetlejuice Blu's so far.

Wow you did good at your wedding. At my wedding in August we barley had enough to pay for half our expenses. Of course our wedding was in Maui with about 70 guests....

Al I got was my PS3. Good job!

No kidding. I ran through the paces last night using a variety of sources. Started off with Cox HD Cable. Dreamgirls was on HBO HD last night. First thing I noticed was how well shadows and backgrounds showed up in their inky black glory. Looked damn good. Switched to playing Wipeout HD on the PS3 and I almost made me dizzy. LOL Then we watched Sleeping Beauty on Blu-ray via my PS3. Wow! Unbelievable how amazing it looked. The color....oh my the color. It shines so bright and clear. Popped in Cars Blu-ray and I thought the cars were going to jump off the screen. The level of clarity is unreal. Then I switched to playing Gears of War with some friends on the 360. Again....just an amazing picture.

Going from a 40" to this is HUGE. Everything is so big now!! I'm sitting about 15 feet away from my 6020 and it honestly feels like I'm watching a movie theater screen at home. I have to literally move my eyes much more to see things on screen now due to how big it is.

Would you say that this is one of the best if not the best TV. I was looking for which to buy, LCD or Plasma. The 6020 seems to me to be the best out there. Is there an LCD equal or greater to this?

No. The Kuro is the king of plasmas. There are no LCD's which are equal to and certainly not greater than the best plasmas.

I asked a question about these in another thread but never got an answer. It turns out that Kuro only uses a 12 bit video processor where as other brands are using 16 bit processors.

What I asked in the other thread was what made Kuro so good and what features it had to deal with detail levels and color banding since it only uses the 12 bit.

Maybe someone here can answer.
