Default Picked up a new TV tonight (G10)

I am now the proud owner of a Panasonic 50" G10 I wanted to get one and someone posted that Best Buy had them for $1,299 last week so I went in tonight and asked if they would still honor that price and they did. I am replacing a 40" Samsung LCD (LNT4061F) The Samsung was nice but not big enough any longer.

Now to find some good settings for this TV so I can start BoB all over again

I will get some pics of the entire setup over the next few days.

Nice. I just got the same set. Best I could do was to get them to match Sears at $1350. I really like the set though I'm still looking at calibration settings.

Great deal ? right, hey that was me on the price, Actually I ended up getting it down to $1,239.00 plus tripple points on best buy card , so I also got $60.00 bucks back in gift cards,, any ways , save to get a real good pic, i went in to vivid settings and took those and - abit and matched them up on custom , just back the settings down abit, this is for blur ray only , I actually use the game mode for TV works great,,

As for break in , trust me save alot of time Just put the tv on Just format and put Cartoons on , this is the best even display and hits all the colors possible to burn in evenly, just don't do any black bar movies for abit, hope this helps and hey enjoy the new tv , Next on my hit list is a Pioneer Kuro ,,yeah I'm dreaming LOL..

Download the images or the DVD here:

http://www.eaprogramming.com/downloa...nload_main.htm

I just copied the images to a USB drive and ran them as a looping slide show from my PS3 when I got my new set last spring. You can do the same thing on an SD card if your set accepts one. Otherwise, just burn the DVD and play it in a loop. Do this for 1 week (in between normal set watching), and you'll be done.

I would love a Kuro but that certainly is dreaming, lol.

I am now on hour 10 of the break in DVD. I opted to hook back up my old Toshiba upconvert DVD player to do the break in instead of running my PS3 for ~150 hours over the course of the next week or so. I wouldn't trust my directv box to not lock up at some point and totally hose me during the process.

I'm not breaking mine in. My father-in-law has a Panny and I've seen no real change in his image quality and no IR. I've watched movies and etc with mine with no IR either. I think that's a thing of the past. I'll have to go back and recalibrate at some point however once the panel really breaks in.

Congrats on the new TV.

I have had my Panny Plasma for over 6 years now and still shows a bright beautiful picture.

I never did the break in and NEVER had a problem with my plasma. I also have friends that never did it either and zero problems..

Enjoy

Sorry if I am mistaken but are you referring to the "12G" in the thread title? This has nothing to do with the G10 model. The G10 calibrations settings are not posted yet (wondering if they ever will). So the best thing to do is use the settings in the FIRST POST of the AVS thread (break in settings). Then after break in, use these (I am using them and am happy with the results)
