Default Does anyone filter their own drinking water?

Just curious if anyone else does their own filtering instead of buying bottled? We bought this recently and we really like it:

I grew up on well water-so I know what you mean. It was an adjustment to get used to city water.

I don't buy water. Gas is a buck a litre, water costs more!

WTF is that!?

Actually, "apparently" our water treatment facility give us the same quality water right out of the tap as buying it, so I don't bother. It just needs cooled in the fridge.

Yep we filter ours with a Brita pitcher. Tap water is extremely clean, but the taste is another matter. Filtering just helps to remove that unpleasent taste.

We filter through our fridge now after buying bottled for years. With five us in the house it was really quite expensive and the pangs of "landfill guilt" finally swayed us.

Our tap water is also extremely clean as well-the city comes and test it every couple of years-but you're right-taste is another thing. The filtering does help with the taste.

Do you like it? We shopped around for a while before finally picking this one up at Costco (and it came with 3 filters) for about $20-we thought it was a pretty good deal. I really like the spigot feature-just fill it up, place it in the fridge and fill up your glass!

Brita's are great. I can't stand the taste of chlorine in the city water or the taste of copper often times from the pipes. The Brita filter does a fair job of getting rid of that.

We have one of those water thing-a-ma-bobbers with the 5-gallon jugs on top. That's the best water if you ask me. Other than that, I usually stick with bottled. Water's pretty much the only drink I drink.

Filter thru the fridge for drinking also have one on the kitchen sink and I recently bought two shower heads which really does a good job filtering the water...

I use a PUR tap filter. Turn the filtered water on and off as needed. More convienent when you want to cook with cleaner water. No bottles, except one to keep in the fridge. Don't like Brita. We had one at my old job and there were carbon particles at the bottom of the water pitcher.

Fiji / dasani/ pellegrino and perrier thats all our fridge is stocked with... I know it isn't good but I've just never been able to filter it and remember to use it, and now that were in this bottled water cycle it'll be tough to break

I haven't consumed un-filtered tap water in years now. Round our way it just tastes vile, and if I ever go anywhere it would have to be either filtered or bottled. Brita ftw !

I've used a brita filter for years. You can buy a pack of filters cheap at costco.
