Yuck. Still wouldn't put me off drinking Coke Zero though, damn that shit is addictive. I don't think drinking one can of soda a day is going to kill you, if some guy can eat McDonalds for every meal for 30 days straight and not die, im sure we will be just fine.

As a soda lover who also happens to be in-shape, I'm not bothered by it at all.

I know cutting soda would make it easier to stay lean, but I don't really care. It's too good.

I have made an effort to cut back on how much I drink per day, because in college it was quite a bit (usually at least a liter per day).

My biggest concerns with soda don't include the fat, but the sugars (I get scared thinking about my teeth rotting), the caffeine (I have trouble going to bed at any sort of a normal hour), and the carbonation (crack open a can of Coke, and listen to it fizzle... it'll keep going for 5, 10, 15, 20+ minutes... that doens't sound like something you want to ingest).

The Diet Sodas have proven to be otherwise. And give you a bigger chances of having cancer. Truth or Legend?.

Doesn't bother me one bit.

I like to drink Root Beer a lot and would drink it every lunch and dinner if I could (though I know that would be unwise).

The potential to gain easy weight because of it means nothing to me, and probably doesn't to anyone who recognizes that if you drink it you just have to work harder to keep the extra weight off. Everything has its price.

But I'm also someone who can control how much I drink the stuff even though I love it so much because I know its not good for me (like Toef said, not because of the fat but because of the other things). Sometimes I'll have as many as 10 cans of root beer in a week (though this is very rare and only happens when I basically have nothing else to drink in the house), sometimes I won't drink any for two to three weeks.

I've actually been starting to cut back even more lately and drink more water.

Soda is terrible for you, this video shows it. But if you like it and can stay in shape, more power to you.

Drinking Fat.
It's accurate (unfortunately).

Almost all pop/soda manufactured in N. America is made with high fructose corn syrup; its effect on the human body is spiking one's insulin levels.

From the Mayo Clinic:
Quote:
The link between insulin and weight gain
The more insulin you use to control your blood sugar level, the more glucose that gets into your cells and the less glucose that's wasted in your urine. Glucose that your cells don't use accumulates as fat.

Actually there was an article about it that I am currently looking for. Apparently according to the article I read the Diet drinks have more negative effects than the normal Soda. I will update this post once I find the article.

Any correlation between artificial sweeteners and cancer does not exist currently, according to the National Cancer Institute.

Who cares, people should be able to make the choice themselves on what they want to eat or drink.
