Early Spielberg movies of the late 70's and Pre 1966 Walt Disney feature films. That alone inspired me to go work for the Walt Disney Co. which I did for 6 years.

Superman: The Movie - I do believe a man can fly
Back to the Future - The best car for a time machine is a DeLorean
Alien - In space no one can hear you scream
Spider-Man - With great power comes great responsibilities
The Terminator - Judgment Day is coming and he'll be back
Ghostbusters - It's okay to be slimed and Bill Murray is dating a dog and don't mess with the Stay Puf marshmallow man
Batman: The Movie - always have a can of shark repellant handy

Mine are:

Apocalypse now.A mulitlayered movie."Cut a soldier in half, and offer him a band-aid." Probably incorrect quote, but you get the essence.

Se7en:Makes you relize the importance of directors.Same who wrote it,wrote '8MM' and look at that travesty of a movie.

Fight club:Might be a cliche, but opened my eyes to some of our every days lies.

Clerks and Clerks II taught me that I do not want to keep clerking it in all my life. Mel Brooks' films taught me that there are lines when making jokes.

The two most influential movies in my life are Halloween (1978) and The Crow (1994). These are the only 2 movies that I have bought countless times once any new edition is released. I've owned 5 different releases of Halloween (vhs to blu-ray) and 3 releases of The Crow (still awaiting US blu-ray).

Another honorable mention is the original Rocky. I remember watching it with my dad in the early 80s and it has always held a special place in my life.

All films influence me, some for good, some bad. Ones that have had a profound effect on me through life though would be the classic films like,

To Kill a Mockingbird
Zulu
Cape Fear (original)
Battle of Britain
Angels with Dirty Faces
Always

Close Encounters of The Third Kind, I often dream about aliens invading and me running away from them.
Odd really, because even though it's a nightmare, I'm never scared, only fascinated and elated even long after I wake up.

Star Wars Original Trilogy (Basically these movies began my passion for film at such a young age)

T2: Judgment Day (I watch this for the first time when I was about 6 or 7 and was amazed by it and even 12 years later, it is still in my top 5 films of all time)

Billy Madison & Happy Gilmore (These two movies by still one of my favs Adam Sandler created an appreciate for comedy and me & my cousin would watch both films every single day at the cabin.)

Spider-man (While Sp2 is my favourite, I was 12 at the time of the release and I had never been more excited for a movie (I actually pre-bought tickets 2 months in advance). I saw i three times in theatres and absolutely loved it. Spider-man was always my favourite Marvel character and I was stunned by the effects at the time.)

I'm wondering what you mean by that, not a hack, just curious?

Saving Private Ryan, Braveheart and Gladiator totally inspire me to fight for what I believe in.

Schindler's List has had a huge impact in my life.

Star Trek gives me hope we can create a better world.
