Default There is more to life than movies

I don't understand why my son has posted here, I have forbade him to come here again, this is not what somebody should be doing, it is sickening. you people need to understand that there is more to life than movies, and blu-rays. next time you spend all day wondering about what movies to watch, or what blu-ray to buy or what is coming out, then think instead, of what you're hiding from.

there is more to life than movies, TV's, entertainment. there are things more important, such as studying, god, family, love, government, your parents, your spouse, your children, your community, your health, you name it. movies are fine, but something to do maybe once a week, or once a month when you have nothing else to do.

Instead of hiding inside, watching movies all day or looking to buy new movies constantly, you need to look inward and work on your relationship with yourself, and god. once you do that, you will see that this phase of hiding in the basement with movies, is just a phase, and there are so many more possibilities in life than what you are exploring.

I have a family, a job and more than enough time to enjoy my movies. How are you going to tell someone else how to live their life and that it is not Godly? Are you Godly to be telling us how our lives are meaningless cause we enjoy movies? Grow up Dad before you completely lose your son to your own harsh ravings!!!

I agree. There is nothing wrong with taking an interest in movies and technology. Some people read books, collect stamps, play video games, go fishing, etc. It's just a hobby, sure there is more to life than movies, but there is nothing wrong with enjoying movies and watching movies. So...yeah...I don't get the rant from the OP.

Default WOW dude are you for real????

Your post is ludicrous. I mean if what we do is so pointless why waste your time posting here. I personally am a Republican, a Christian and I volunteer in the church nursery. This is the type of crap that gives people of my faith a bad name. I also have a BA and a successful career. So what if my girlfriend and I happen to enjoy watching movies in HD together? Seriously man instead of critisizing people you don't even know, focus on your own life.

BTW: we are watching spider man on BF finally and the PQ and AQ are amazing.

I agree that there's a lot more to life, but just because we post on this forum doesn't mean that we don't do anything else with our lives.... lol... it sounds like you have issues with your son and you need to spend more time communicating with him and guiding him rather than blaming us on this forum for his disinterest in studies, work, god... I work, just got married, travel around the world (when i can afford it), read books, have a great family and have a good relationship with my parents. At the same time I love technology and movies.... it's better to have hobbies and interests than not to... sounds like you need something to get interested in... and I'm not talking about God... btw basements are optimal environments for home theaters (nothing to do with hiding)... get a clue man and give your son a hug once and a while....

p.s. i can't sleep right now, that's why i'm wasting my time with this response.... also do me one thing.. pull out one of your sons blu-rays, watch it on a 1080p Plasma and turn up the 7.1 surround and tell me if it doesn't make you feel like you're in heaven

If such is the case, then the original poster is doing a very poor job at parenting. He or she makes blanket generalizations about anonymous users on an internet message board, yet can't seem to monitor his or her child's behavior and actions. I have a suggestion for you, Trader342. Pull the plug on the internet, and actually communicate with your child!

If you feel so strongly in your convictions, then actually be proactive in the parental role and stop using internet message boards as your platform for communication between you and your son. That's simply pathetic, in every sense of the word.

I pity you, but much more your son in this case.
