ps3 cables - Blu-ray Forum

First off, I would just like to say thanks to everyone who responded to my "blu ray resolution" thread. It really helped me to make a decision. It looks like I am set to purchase a PS3 in the next couple days so my next question involves set up. I have heard that the PS3 does not come with an HDMI cable, and that they are like $100. Does it come with a component cable, because all I am trying to get is 720p, and I know I don't need hdmi for that, so anyways just let me know which cables it comes with, and what, if anything, I should buy.

Mine just came w/ the power cable, USB cable, and composite AV cable. With HDMI being a digital signal, you don't need to spend too much on a cable to prevent interference, so cheaper HDMI cables work well, too. (that info is if you were ruling out HDMI due to costs)

Go to Monoprice.com and buy an HDMI cable for $17 or less.

Great price, great quality.......I've ordered many times from them and am very happy.

$100 HDMI cables exist, but you certainly don't need one anywhere near that expensive.

I have bought three cables from monoprice. One optical, a three foot HDMI and something like 15 foot HDMI. I have been very pleased. They were much more reasonable than Best Buy, etc. Good quality stuff. Shipped pretty quick too.
