Hi i bought a 40 inch sony full hd LCD , i have a sony vaio pc and also a new assembled one ,my sony vaio have a dvi out put so i connect the dvi output to my sony tv hdmi input , everything is fine , but sound was not working , think its because it very old video card , what i want is now , a video card which hdmi enabled and plays both sound and video in the sony lcd , im also planning to buy a lite on or lg blue ray drive for my pc , please suggest me a card that will enabled me to play hd dvd or blueray dvd in my pc and watch it in my sony lcd.

DVI does not carry sound, so you will need a video card with HDMI. I would get a Radeon 4350, it's what I use in my media PC and it works flawlessly for blu ray playback and I get full 7.1 PCM audio with it as well. I use the gigabyte brand card, that can be had for about $35 shipped from newegg.

Hello,
I am having trouble with 1080p playback, the video has trouble keeping up with the audio and the audio skips a bit. I've tried playing with Windows Media Player and Media Player Classic but both of them have the same issue. My specs are: Intel Core 2 Duo T9900 @ 3.06 GHz (6 MB Cache) 4.00 GB RAM DDR2 0.5 TB (x7600 RPM) ATi Mobility Radeon HD 4670 Can anyone tell me what I need to do to fix the problem? Any help is appreciated. |

Kpkelley has provided a link to the card I'm refferring to. Don't use Windows Media Player, use Powerdvd 9 or Total Media Theater for blu ray playback. I'm playing back full 1080p just fine with no stuttering or any probelms on a Pentium D 3.0 ghz. 4 gigs of ram, Radeon 4350, Vista 64 bit Ultimate, 1.5 TB hdd, so you don't need a super powerful rig to play this stuff.
