Default ok, last video card question-- 8600gt or 8800gts for blue ray playback?

I just upgraded my desktop from an 8800gts to an 8800gtx... so I now have an extra 8800gts hanging around.

I currently have an 8600*gt* in my htpc... how does the 8800gts compare, purely in terms of hd playback? The processor in my htpc is somewhat weak (pentium M 2.26ghz) so I need to offload to the video card as much as posislbe- I've read that the 8600 is better for blu ray playback than the 8800-- but I'm comparing an 8600 *GT* to an 8800*GTS* .. will the 8800 be any better? (if you've been reading the other posts, the 8800gts I have is also a fanless unit... )

You are right. http://www.nvidia.com/object/purevideo_hd_faq.html#1Q4

In term of Blu-ray, 8600 GT is faster than 8800 GTS http://www.nvidia.com/docs/CP/11036/...Comparison.pdf

will a 8600gts be any faster at blu ray playback than a 8600gt, or is it not worth it?

According to the pdf spec, Blu-ray features are identical so their performances are probably identical.

understood, but the gts has a higher clock rate, more memory , and, I think, higher memory bandwidth. I'm very familiar with how those stats impact gameplay, but very unfamiliar with how they impact blu ray play back-- will those better stats yield better playback?
